I started voice acting at 15 years old, and as an Iraqi kid with no formal acting or business background, it was a lot of learning! But through training, lots of research, and hard work, I got opportunities with many studios and companies from all around the world as a bilingual voice actor. I also wrote, produced, and presented many radio shows, and even gave a TED Talk about the human voice at TEDxBaghdad!
Why?
I almost never found out how much I loved acting and the arts; until I started educating myself and studying the craft. In a country like mine with such a limited art curriculum, I was never encouraged to be artistic. But slowly, I found my love and passion through working tirelessly every day and never stopping at a seeming dead-end. I’ve worked on many personal projects as a voice actor, writer, director, and producer. I even wrote, produced, recorded, mixed, mastered, and released a full 12-track album in 2024! I will always fight for creativity in Iraq and all around the world.
MY TED TALK
In my talk at TEDxBaghdad 2024, I explored how our voice is much more than just a means of communication—it's a reflection of who we are, deeply connected to our mental health, emotions, and identity. I dove into the science behind how our voice influences our interactions, whether in art, everyday conversations, or voice acting, and also addressed the ethical concerns surrounding AI-generated voices; emphasizing the need for regulations to protect this vital part of our identity in a digital world.
